Programs for South American Churches
YWAM Iquitos believes that the Peruvian church in particular and South American church in general has great potential yet to be released. Our ministry focuses on teaching, equipping, and encouraging the youth of South American churches to rise up and occupy their place in the work of God. To that end we offer various seminars and retreats to minister to the youth, equip them for service, and mobilize them for ministry.
Youth Issues: Our team imparts teaching series related to sexual temptations, dating, courtship, inner healing, the Fatherheart of God, and matters pertaining to character and integrity. We have developed these series in full outline form with PowerPoint presentations to aid in the assimilation of truth.
Evangelism and World Missions: The core values of YWAM emphasize going forth and fulfilling the Great Commission. We have qualified personnel who train and motivate churches for outreach ministry as well as orient the local church with respect to the world missions movement and the role of the South American church in that divine mandate.
Creative Arts Training: YWAM Iquitos Creative Arts Department trains local churches in drama techniques, pantomime, dramatic arts presentations, and choreographies. These training programs can be as short as 10 hours and as long as 120 hours, depending on the objectives of each particular local church.
Youth Retreats: YWAM Iquitos has a praise and worship band, a team of Bible teachers prepared to teach on pertinent youth issues, and creative arts personnel capable of leading a church youth retreat.
Mobile Team ministry: We periodically send out mobile teams in South America to work alongside local churches in evangelism, discipling youth, and training in the creative arts. The purpose of these ministry teams is to channel the special strengths of YWAM to augment the ministry of the local church. These teams are “all-purpose” – they can minister through Biblical teaching, creative arts training, youth retreats (all described above), as well as hit the streets in evangelism arm-in-arm with the local church.
